Classic Ferrari shows Monaco there is more then modern sportscars

In 1967, Ferrari produced only four units of its revolutionary 330 P4 sports prototype. These cars were designed for competition in the World Sportscar Championship and to challenge the Ford GT40s at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans race. The 330 P4 featured a cutting-edge mid-mounted 4 liter fuel-injected V12 engine, capable of producing an impressive 450 hp. Notably, it achieved a historic 1-2-3 victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona and secured another triumph in the 1'000 Kilometres of Monza during the same year.

Fast forward to the present day, Bob Norwood, a Ferrari specialist from Rockwall, Texas, embarked on an ambitious project. He began creating meticulous recreations of this legendary Ferrari, incorporating modern Ferrari drivetrain components. Named the "P4 by Norwood," this recreation faithfully captures the essence of the iconic 330 P4, offering vintage car enthusiasts the timeless appeal and sophistication of a classic automobile. In addition, it guarantees the reliability of a contemporary powertrain, ensuring more moments of driving pleasure.

Constructed in 2016, this Norwood P4 was painstakingly built with a tubular-steel spaceframe and a hand-crafted aluminum body. ⚒ This combination results in a striking replica of the Ferrari 330 P4, featuring a 2'591 millimeter wheelbase and an impressively low overall height of just 991 millimeters. Beneath its aluminum-clad rear bodywork lies a potent 5.7 liter V12 engine sourced from a Ferrari 575 Maranello. With the assistance of a Motec ECU, this engine delivers an impressive output of 610 hp and 780 Nm of torque.

Transferring this considerable power to the road is a Porsche G50 5-speed transaxle. Weighing in at a mere 860 kilograms, the Norwood P4 achieves a rapid 0-100 km/h sprint in just 4 seconds. It further demonstrates its performance capabilities by completing the quarter-mile run at a speed of 201 km/h. To complement its impressive performance, the Norwood P4 features a 3.44 limited-slip differential, a stainless-steel fuel tank, and 305 millimeter disc brakes equipped with 4-piston Wilwood calipers. Traction is optimized through the use of 381 millimeter Technomagnisia wheels wrapped in Dunlop tires.

Recently, this exceptional vehicle was even spotted cruising the streets of Monaco, paying homage to its storied history and captivating modern adaptations.
