Electric Audi R8 e-tron spotted at the Nürburgring

We still have to wait at least a year, but the production model of Audi’s electric supercar is spotted, and where else than at the Nürburgring. The R8 e-tron is full electric powered. Not only the driving mechanism is tested, also the V8 and V10 models of the Audi R8 are going to have an update. We see many details on the R8 e-tron which we will also see on the facelifted R8, which will be on sale in 2013.

The 2013 Audi R8 has got a new radiator grille, new headlights and a new gearbox. But we go back on topic, back to the R8 e-tron. At the R8 e-tron’s back we see that this car hasn’t got an exhaust system anymore, very logical because this car doesn't destroy our atmosphere. The bonnet, which is normally made out of glass is replaced for a panel with a grill. Here, where you could normally find the engine we now have a lot of space. How this space is going to be filled isn’t sure yet. The electric engine doesn’t take many space and the batteries will be distributed all around the car, for a perfect weight ratio.

Specifications
We don't know much about the batteries and the four electric engines. But we do know that the range will be at least 155 miles and that the technique in the car will produce 313 bhp, and the torque will be around 680 ft lbs. The e-tron shall be build by Quattro Gmbh in limited numbers. The price of the car will be around 120.000 British pounds.
