Spotted: Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren by Brabus

The Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR is quite a cool car according to some people. It's also a very fast car. Some people like to call it a supercar. We can agree on that if we look at the numbers. Acceleration, top speed, torque...the SLR is a beast! Some people think differently, they feel the SLR isn't fast enough. Those people have a problem, right? No, not really. They'll pay a visit to the Germans in Bottrop, for an upgrade by Brabus.

Brabus is well known for their super fast cars like the Rocket CLS and Bullit C with 730 bhp. A couple of years ago they had a go on a McLaren SLR. The Brabus-upgrade provides the car with another 34 bhp so that leads to a higher top speed, 340 km per hour. The Germans did a couple of modifications like an electronic differential, new crankshafts, new rims and a totally different exhaust system. This is a so called "open exhaust system". In Holland this isn't really allowed so we're quite curious how Brabus has come up with this kind of system.

This particular matte grey car was spotted at the Duesseldorf Convention Center during a boat show. Quite a few rich people have big boats so it's not that surprising that you can find some nice cars there this week. Brabus used to have this car in its showroom at Bottrop a couple of weeks ago. If you fancy buying one of these cars on Dutch license plates, grab your wallet and start paying because this car will set you back a staggering 800.000 euros.
