Spyshots: BMW Alpina B7

The introduction of a BMW M7 is something where a lot of car enthusiasts are hoping for for quite a while already. Unfortunately BMW hasn't sent their top limousine to the guys of M Motorsport yet and that most likely won't happen with the newest model either. Fortunately there is a well-knowm BMW tuner that dares to lay their hands on the 7-series. We are talking about Alpina!

The Alpina B7 is one of the few options an owner of a BMW 7 series has if he wants a faster and more sportive car. Alpinas always look really good, so it isn't a punishment, also not for the car enthusiasts. Right now Alpina is busy with the finetuning of the last new parts of the newest B7. This B7 has been spied almost without any camouflage in Germany.

On the outside there are only a few changes compared to the normal 7 series. A modest lip under the front bumper and a subtle spoiler on the trunk decorate the outside of the B7. For the rest the production model will probably have 21 inch rims. With this B7 it's all about the inside, in particular the engine. The 4.4 liter V8 twinturbo from the BMW 750i is used by Alpina in the B7. In the B7 it doesn't just have 407 bhp, but 500 bhp. A significant change and enough to compete with the Audi S8 and Mercedes S63 AMG. Other than the engine Alpina also changes the brakes of the B7 for a shorter stopping distance.

We still have to wait for the production version of the Alpina B7, but seeing the minimal amount of camouflage it shouldn't take to long before it will be introduced. Beginning of March in Geneva perhaps?
