New Zealand guy makes Ferrari F40 replica

Replicas come in all sizes. Recently we made articles on a Rolls-Royce Phantom replica and an Audi R8 replica. Ferrari is quite often being reproduced for some reason, maybe because they are relatively easy to make due to a Pontiac Fiero or Toyota MR2 chassis. From the million euro Ferraro Enzo till the 360 Modena, it doesn't matter. Fake it till you make it. We recently ran into this Ferrari F40 replica which is now being sold on New Zealand's version of Ebay called TradeMe.

The car is currently located in New Zealand so if you're interested in buying it, you have to start making travel arrangements. It's actually quite interesting to know that this guy spent four years building it. To be honest, it looks quite nice! Maybe it's one of the best looking replicas we've seen so far. Of course this car features some options the original F40 didn't have like electric windows, air conditioning, an alarm and central door locking. Under the bonnet we'll find a 4 liter V8 from Lexus. It has a five-speed manual gearbox. This enables the car to accelerate pretty fast because the car ain't that heavy.

Funny fact: the wheels on this replica are said to be original Ferrari wheels. We noticed they are a lot wider though. If you fancy buying it, it's for sale for 125.000 New Zealand dollar, that's just under 50.000 euros.
