KTM invites you to try the X-Bow GT4

KTM, the car manufacturer from Austria, gives professional teams and individual drivers the chance to test the race-version of the KTM X-Bow, the X-Bow GT4. KTM organizes this event specially for the 2009 motor sport season.

KTM picked the racing track of Paul Ricard for the test sessions. This track in Le Castelett, France, will also be used by KTM to give a short instruction about the track and this strange looking “track day” car. The X-Bow GT4 was developed specially for driving fast on the track, next to the street-version. For this car KTM even received an award, “Vehicle Development of the Year”. This award was given during the Professional Motorsport World EXPO in Cologne, Germany. A nice fact is that the X-Bow GT4, already in 2008, in the GT4 European Cup, won the first, second and third place.

The carbon fiber monocoque isn’t just extremely light, but also very stiff, which makes the car handle perfectly. The aerodynamics of the GT4 are improved, compared to the street version, the GT4 also got a diffuser. This makes the car corner at 1.8 g, the semi slicks give you the sufficient grip. Racing in the GT4 is, compared to other cars, cheap. But cheap in the when you want to race is relative, you have to pay quite some money if you want to race.

To take part in the test session you’ll have to pay 990 euros, this excludes taxes. The trip and stay will also have to be paid. So instead of going to the Bahamas or Crete, you can also race in a KTM in France.
