For sale: silver Ferrari FXX

For sale: silver Ferrari FXX

In 2005 Ferrari showed the world a remarkable model, the FXX. Developed from the Enzo, this car was sort of an “investment in technology”. The 30 cars are driven, from 2005 to 2007, by different test-drivers to gain new information for the future.

This was a special project. The 30 FXX’s aren’t street-legal nor fitted for any racing league. The car is only meant for special track days and to gain new information that can be used in to future to make even better cars. The engine is based on the engine from the Enzo. The engine is enlarged to 6.3 liter which gives this car 812 bhp instead of the 660 bhp of the Enzo.

At that time the FXX had a price tag of well over 1.5 million euros, without taxes of course. You rarely find a FXX that is for sale. Recently a FXX was auctioned for 2.6 million euros. Right now you can, if you’ve got the cash, buy a silver FXX, which is for sale in Germany. This car has only driven 400 km, the price for this car is just 2.2 million euros and it's for sale at AVUS Germany. So the car is a lot more expensive than a new Bugatti Veyron. Another disadvantage is that you can’t drive this car on the open road. So it's a car that you can hardly use. Luckily EDO Competition developed a program to make the FXX street-legal (Dutch article).
