Spot of the day day: MG XPower SV-R

It’s going well with Autogespot. We had to wait years for the very exclusive MG XPower SV-R before it showed up on Autogespot and now, within two months, two of these cars were spotted. Today the only example in Belgium was spotted, a rightful spot of the day!

The X-power was introduced in 2003 and stunned everyone. MG was known for it’s boring old English cars. However, the XPower SV-R was just cool and hot at the time. At first they wanted a version with hundreds of horsepower but the final production version only had a 326bhp 5.0 liter V8. Enough for a top speed of more than 250 km/h and fast acceleration.

The appearance speaks for itself. The car was meant to be daily usable but it is a very aggressive car to see and drive. It is meant for the track, and the car radiates that. Production numbers are not known, Wikipedia speaks of 64 cars. That’s a very low number. At the time the MG XPower SV, the lightest version, cost 65.000 pounds.
