Spot of the day: Ascari A10

In this crazy week where the most bizarre exotics popped up on the frontpage, this spot of the day is a welcome addition. Today in the sunny South of Europe, in the expensive city Marbella to be exact, an Ascari A10 was spotted, a super rare and super fast exotic. Without any doubt the spot of the day!

This Ascari A10 is Ascari’s third model, the company is ran by the Dutchman Klaas Zwart, and is built in honor of the ten year existence of the company. The exterior is almost identical to the KZ1, but the body is lighter and stronger because carbon is used. They also fitted some new suspension to make it an even better steering car.

With a 5.0 liter V8 from BMW with 620bhp and a weight of about 1200 kilogram this is a true canon. The amount of bhp per tonne is almost the same as that of a Bugatti Veyron and that is a huge achievement! This is shown by the bizarre acceleration figures, the sprint from 0-100 in just 2.8 seconds! That’s almost as fast as a Veyron and a lot faster than most hypercars! Klaas Zwart, the father in law of Tom Coronel, has created a very fast and bizarre exotic. For a while this car was the track record holder on the Top Gear test track.

It is not clear if there are ten or fifteen cars, but rare it sure is! With a price tag of 520.000 euros, it is of course sold out, it wasn’t a cheap car, but you did get a lot in return. Especially if you compare it’s performance to the competition, then you notice it isn’t even that expensive, given the exclusivity. Next to a scoop on Autogespot it is also without doubt our spot of the day!
