Spot of the day day: expensive combo in Medemblik

Today's spot of the day features not one car, but three! Our minister of finance, Wouter Bos, will be very pleased with these three cars because the luxury vehicle tax for all of them really is a positive addition for our national treasury index. The Dutch village of Medemblik (who hasn't heard of it?) hosts three of the most expensive limousines we know.

There has to be something decadent to do in this little village. These three cars, a Maybach 62 S and two Rolls-Royce Phantoms, don't show up for nothing. They are mostly driven by specially hired drivers but it is also possible the owner has a regular driver. All three cars are large, luxurious and extremely expensive. In total they're worth 1.5 million euros but the German Maybach 62 S is the most expensive one, 700.000 euros including taxes. Recent research has shown that many of our message board users prefer the Phantom. The Phantom is more popular than the Maybach. That's not such a big surprise because the Phantom is a car with a lot more status. The Maybach is more a luxurious version of the Mercedes-Benz S-class.
