Of course we will present you with the spot of the day on this friday. Today we’ve chosen for a weird looking creation, this looks like an attempt to make a car look better than it acctually is. We are talking about a Mercedes SL55 AMG which is turned into a Mercedes McLaren SLR look-a-like by Lotec.
Will people be fooled? This SL55 AMG has some details that are taken from te SLR. The nose is identical and the gills on the side look the same, just a little smaller. The exhaust are placed nicely under the gills and on the back you can find a diffusor which can also be found on the SLR. As a finishing touch you can find a nametag which says “SLR” but who will be fooled by that?
Of course this car is way too small to be a SLR, and it looks a lot like someone built it in a dusty shed. We are just wondering if the owner has looked at this car and compared it to a real SLR. The panels that are used don’t fit that well and the Lorinser look-a-like rims just don’t look right. For sure the SL55 AMG is a wonderful fast car, but this bodykit doesn’t do the car any good! Now you’ve got a failed SLR which is called spot of the day on a Dutch car spotting site. Very nice!
