Small but funky: the Aston Martin Cygnet!

Aston Martin are going to throw themselves on the market of luxury city cars. They just released a press message with in it a picture of the Aston Martin Cygnet, a concept car based on the Toyota iQ.

The Cygnet is a small, luxury and environmentally friendly vehicle with an Aston Martin badge. In cooperation with Toyota, the largest car manufacturer in the world, they developed this luxury city car.

How bizarre that Aston Martin is trying to sell cars in an entirely different segment. They have been making beautiful sportscars for dozens of years now. The Cygnet won’t be a car with sporty performance. The car will have a 1 liter engine. But that is not what the Cygnet is about. According to Dr. Ulrich Bez it’s a way to translate all their design, skill and special features into an entirely different segment of the car industry.

Special is that this car will only be available for people who already own an Aston Martin. You can look at this thing as a very exclusive shopping car. It remains in your thoughts that, if you spot a Cygnet, the owner has at least one of his bigger brothers at home. A lot of work has to be done but Aston Martin expects to finish this car within a short period of time.
