Event: Concorso Italiano

Event: Concorso Italiano

A wonderful day of Italian fun underneath the Californian sun. After last year’s less than enjoyable edition of Concorso, new organizers try to transform the show back to its origins. They traded the grey, drafty parking lot of the Marina Municipal Airport for the colorful rolling hills of the Laguna Seca Golf Ranch, a wise choice indeed. With things back to normal at concorso, the show feels much livelier and the atmosphere gives a much warmer feel.

However, because of the shortcuts taken at last year’s show, Concorso lost a lot of car entries to their new competition. “La Dolce Vita” and “The Quail” are two new shows that take place on the same day as Concorso and have caused a migration of the good cars away from Concorso. Though Concorso is headed back in the right direction with atmosphere and event planning, they lost all the good entries to the other shows. This year’s event had nothing too exciting and had some pretty bland and ordinary cars. Hopefully next year they can pull back some better Italian automobiles.
