Enjoyable pictures of a Ferrari 512 BBi

Autogespot is a website where we see mostly modern-day supercars being spotted. Some spotters regret this, they prefer the classics over the modern-day cars. One of those spotters is nieuw, who captured a real classical legend lately: the Ferrari 512 BBi. Not only the car looks great, the photos do either.

The Ferrari 512 BBi is a pretty unknown Ferrari. The novice spotter only knows current models like the F430, 458, 599 and F12. The more advanced spotter also knows the some models of the past like the Testarossa, 512 TR, 250-series and so on. I think that only the real fans know the Ferrari 512 BBi, as it is pretty rare. Between 1981 and 1984, only 1007 copies were built. The 512 BBi in case is one of the younger ones: it origins in 1983, but was imported to the Netherlands in 1992.

The engine is what makes this car so special. BB stands for Berlinetta Boxer, so it's a closed Ferrari with an boxer engine. This means the twelve cylinders of the engine were opposed parallel to one another, not in straight angles like a V12. This technique is not used that much nowadays, but it still finds its way to the products of Subaru and Porsche.
As I mentioned before, the photos are great. The photographer really used the advantages of the polarizer and tripod. A bit of editing afterwards give these photos a really classical Eighties atmosphere.
