A nickname of guitarist Eric Clapton is Slowhand. He got this name because he sometimes broke a string of his guitars during performances. The worldfamous artist made several albums with bands like Cream, Derek and the Dominos and blues-legend B.B. King and with that he earned loads of money, enough to order a custom-build Ferrari. Now there are more photos available of this one-off Ferrari. His nickname may be Slowhand, but he has got a passion for everything which is fast.
Recently, Ferrari publiced a big interview in their own magazine, a nice story to read. It’s about his life but also about his involvement in his SP12 EC. For Clapton it was the unique opportunity to start with a unique car, developed by the Special Projects-division of Ferrari, and the car would be finished with the Tailor Made-program. The only thing that was drawed was the Ferrari BB 512i. Clapton had this Ferrari and it is his favourite Ferrari. For him, his SP12 EC is a homage to this classic. The headlights from this one-off are taken from the Enzo, but first Clapton would choose for round headlights, but it looked too much like the Ferrari P3/4. That made it necessary to choose other headlights. Everything has to be functional, so technical it couldn’t be different from the standard parts. In the full interview you can read every single detail of this unique project.
What’s going to be the next Ferrari SP is already known, it is based on a 599 GTO. A rich customer who wants to combine the looks of a 599 GTO, 599 XX and F12berlinetta.
