Ferrari 12Cilindri: A look under the hood

We’ve seen plenty of 12Cilindri models pop up on the site by now, and they’re being delivered at full throttle all across Europe and beyond. But this is the first spot on our site where we get a proper look under the hood, a great opportunity to see what’s hiding beneath that long front end.

The 12Cilindri has a striking presence, with a long, low silhouette and a noticeably extended front end. That space is needed to house a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine producing 830 hp, largely the same powerplant found in the 812 Competizione. It’s likely the last V12 we’ll see from Maranello, unless an even more extreme version of this twelve-cylinder comes along.

What’s especially interesting here is how far back the engine sits, not shoved up against the front bumper as you might expect, but set further toward the center of the car. This front-mid engine layout helps optimize both handling and weight distribution, making for a more balanced driving experience.

This particular car was recently picked up from the Ferrari dealer, and KMPhotography managed to arrange a shoot with it almost immediately. Finished in Giallo Triplo Strato, the bright yellow paint absolutely pops in the sunlight. The owner also added a subtle grey racing stripe down the center, consisting of one thicker stripe in the middle flanked by two thinner ones, giving the car a bit of extra flair.

On both sides of the car, you’ll notice the number twelve along with a flag, one many might not immediately recognize. It’s the flag of Sandžak, a region that spans parts of Serbia and Montenegro. It’s a personal touch that makes this 12Cilindri truly unique, a car clearly built to reflect its owner’s individual taste. A very cool build all around.
