This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this particular car, either. The first sighting was five years ago in London, where it was crowned the Spot of the Year in 2020 on our site. Before that, we’ve recorded six other Ferrari 250 GTO sightings. The earliest one dates back to 2007, which, coincidentally, was also in Paris. While most of the sightings have been of red GTOs, there was one standout in 2014 - a silver example spotted in Seaside, California, USA.

The Ferrari 250 GTO is more than just a car; it’s a piece of automotive history. Built between 1962 and 1964, only 36 units were ever made, making it one of the rarest cars in the world. Designed by Giotto Bizzarrini and later refined by Mauro Forghieri and Sergio Scaglietti, the GTO was a masterpiece of engineering and aerodynamics. Powered by a 3.0-liter V12 engine producing around 300 hp, it could reach speeds of over 280 km/h - an incredible feat for its time.

What makes the GTO even more special is its racing pedigree. It dominated GT racing in the 1960s, winning numerous championships and cementing its place as a motorsport icon. Its rarity, performance, and timeless design have made it the ultimate collector's car. Today, the Ferrari 250 GTO is considered one of the most valuable cars in the world, with recent auction sales exceeding 50 million euros, and some private transactions reportedly reaching as high as 70 million euros.

Every time a Ferrari 250 GTO is spotted, it feels like witnessing history in motion. From its groundbreaking design to its unparalleled legacy, this car remains a dream for enthusiasts and collectors alike. It’s no wonder that every sighting draws a crowd - this car is a living legend.
