It is Ferrari's SF90 XX Stradale and Spider that caught significant attention earlier this year. A Ferrari developed for the racetrack, yet also street-legal. At the very least, this is remarkable, but it reflects a trend of recent years.
Turning hardcore race cars into street-legal vehicles has become a common practice. It’s a kind of “comfort” that owners of these cars desire. In the morning, they can fuel up the car, spend a few hours pushing it to the limit on the track, and then return it to the garage with completely worn-out tires. Because after a good track day, you can be sure those Michelin tires will be completely shot, and a fresh set won’t be a luxury.
After all, the tires have to handle 1,030 horsepower during acceleration—not to mention the 804 Nm of torque. Last weekend, two examples were spotted in Germany: a brand-new SF90 XX Stradale in the iconic red-and-yellow combination and an SF90 XX Spider in a stunning, understated black finish!
