First spot: Porsche Taycan Turbo S

While Porsche was launching the new Taycan, it was testing the new electric vehicle on and around the Nürburgring. A few days later it was taking the spotlight at the IAA in Frankfurt (Germany) and made it the first public appearance. And now it is time for the very first spot of the car in Weisenheim am Berg.

It is Porsche's first fully electric vehicle, and the first true competitor to the Tesla. The Taycan is a totally new and innovative platform from Porsche, and as expected, pure emotion and maximum driving pleasure hold true as they do for any Porsche. The four-door sports saloon is a unique package, offering typical Porsche performance and connectivity with everyday usability. At the same time, highly advanced production methods and the features of the Taycan are setting new standards in the fields of sustainability and digitalization. “We promised a true Porsche for the age of electro mobility – a fascinating sports car that not only excites in terms of its technology and driving dynamics, but also sparks a passion in people all over the world, just like its legendary predecessors have done.

There is no delay as pregnant as the calm before this tempest. In the wake of contorting the mode dial into Sport Plus mode and remaining on the two pedals, the 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo S shows a "Dispatch Control enacted" message while apparently nothing else occurs – no moaning motor, no sitting tight for support (in spite of the classification), simply the speculative murmur of an electronically produced soundtrack as 774 pound-feet of torque are going to release through every one of the four wheels.
