For a happy few: Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG

Ross Kemp showed us the gigantic differences between rich and poor in South-Africa with his documentary Ross Kemp on Gangs. South-Africa has two big cities: Cape Town and Johannesburg. It is not very rare to suddenly see a supercar in Johannesburg. A lot of wealthy people live here, especially a lot of European people with a second or third house in this city. A CLK DTM AMG fits perfectly in the list of supercars which you can maybe spot in this city.

A report, written by our Dutch reporter Stephan, shows the big contrast of this country. Beautiful villas and untouched landscapes. Owners of supercars have a beautiful surrounding in South-Africa where they can benefit the empty highways and beautiful landscapes. That’s why the manufacturer of the CLK DTM AMG choose South-Africa as the country where the SLR McLaren was introduced in 2001. A CLK DTM AMG does belong on a track, because that is where the car comes from. The CLK DTM AMG is a street version of the CLK DTM racecar from back in the days.

In 2003, Bernd Schneider won the DTM championship. This was a reason for Mercedes-Benz to release a limited version of this car. 100 copies of the coupe and 100 copies of the convertible. Under the hood we find a V8 kompressor with 582 bhp and 800 Nm of torque, a very fast car but especially the looks make it a really amazing car!
