The Porsche Carrera GT is, without a doubt, one of the craziest cars ever built. A naturally aspirated V10 that howls like nothing else, paired with a proper six-speed manual gearbox and a driving experience so raw it borders on terrifying, this car defines what a supercar should be.
But let’s be honest, for all its engineering brilliance, the stock Carrera GT’s design has always been a bit too tame for what hides under that carbon-fiber skin. And that’s exactly where Gemballa comes in to turn the volume all the way up.
Enter the Gemballa Mirage GT Black Edition, the Carrera GT’s wilder, louder, and more aggressive alter ego. With its sharper front fascia, a massive air vent on the hood, that signature roof scoop, and a giant rear wing, the Mirage GT looks like it’s ready to take off. Add in those quad exhaust tips that resemble rocket thrusters, and you’ve got a car that finally looks as extreme as it drives.
Underneath, Gemballa didn’t just stop at aesthetics. The 5.7-liter V10 was tuned to deliver 670 PS and 630 Nm of torque, a solid jump from the stock Carrera GT’s 612 PS and 590 Nm. On a car that was already a wild stallion, that’s a serious performance boost.

And while Porsche built 1,270 examples of the Carrera GT, Gemballa only transformed 25 units into Mirage GT masterpieces, making it one of the rarest modern hypercars out there. To add some perspective, it’s speculated that around 20% of all Carrera GTs (roughly 254 cars) have been totaled over the years, a statistic that sadly makes sense given how unforgiving the car can be. The Carrera GT demands respect, and those who underestimate it often find out the hard way.
Now here’s a fun fact connected to these two spots. Spotter Rostyslav recently uploaded the spot of this insane Gemballa Mirage GT Black Edition, saying it was “a bit weird” to catch such a rare beast before ever seeing a ‘normal’ Carrera GT in person. But here’s where it gets crazy, just minutes after uploading that Mirage GT spot, he opened Instagram and saw a post about a Carrera GT in central London that hadn’t been spotted on Autogespot before. So what did he do? He sprinted out of his house, camera in hand, and caught it just in time before it disappeared. Coincidence… or did he just summon a legend with sarcasm?
Either way, the universe clearly rewards true car enthusiasts.
For some, the stock Carrera GT will always remain the purist’s dream, a perfectly balanced symphony of sound, control, and danger. But for others, the Gemballa Mirage GT is the ultimate evolution, the car the Carrera GT always wanted to be: louder, meaner, and unapologetically extreme.
