Geneva 2013: Hamann Mi5Sion

This year, Hamann has a very crowded stand with various types of cars. A purple Range Rover, a brutal black Mercedes-Benz G-Class and a wide BMW 6-Series accompany the Hamann Mi5Sion. This extremely fast car, based on the BMW M5, has a very angry look to the world. This is because of the fact that the new front bumper and the bonnet are extended, but that’s the beginning.

Hamann describes this car as rebellish to the trend of BMW. Every new M5 became faster, but also more luxurious. Hamann wants to go back to the basics and tried to build a hardcore car, both on the surface of performance as looks. We think they did a proper job. The front looks very aggressive, and with the narrow headlights it also looks sportier than before. The new front bumper is casually based on the original bumper, but there are some lips and widening added to it. Nothing wrong with that if you ask us.

We move on to the side of the car, where the widening can be seen very good. Air intakes, scoops and big wheelarches make this car sporty and cool at the same time. Maybe the widening is a bit over the top for some. We think it would be better if it was more processed into the bodywork than this sudden transition. A set of black alloy wheels just can’t be missed at a white car, happely Hamann understood this.

After this we move to the remaining side of the car, the back. This side remained most original of all sides. A carbon fiber spoiler on the boot, a bigger diffuser and black, changes we see very often. The press message said the exhausts produce a sound which perfectly fits to the character to the car, something we do believe!
