One of the most important introduction on the Geneva Motor Show is the Porsche 991 GT3. A lot of fanatics looked forward to this moment and now’s the time to inform you about the most sporty Porsche for sale at ths moment, because you can immediately order this GT3.
The last generation of the Porsche 997 GT3 is a true race monster. This is a true representative of the Porsche-DNA. The model which is presented in Geneva is the fifth generation of the GT3. This car is the ultimate 991 where it’s all about three things, high performance, efficiency and driving pleasure.
This 991 GT3 is all about technique. The basic model is a 991 Carrera. This model is developed to the GT3. To start off with the engine, we are talking about a 3.8 liters six-cylinder engine which produces 475 hp at 8,250 rpm. The six-cylinder has a direct injection, developed cylinder heads and GT3-specific crankshaft and valves. Especially for the GT3, titanium piston rods and pistons are developed. All these components make it able for the engine to turn around at 9,000 rpm.
Unique thing on this new generation GT3 is the fact that you can only get this car with a seven speed PDK gearbox. Porsche said goodbye to the manual gearbox. Some Porsche purists won’t like this but at this moment, it is a real must for a sports car. The gearbox offers the driver a dynamic experience which can be compared with sequential gearboxes which are used in Porsche race cars. You can switch gears in two different ways, by hand or adaptive. When you switch gears by hand you do this with the paddles behind the steering wheel. When you choose for adaptive, you’ll use the gear shift in the center console. When you’re in adaptive mode, you can choose for two characteristics: Sport and Race Track.
Well, let’s talk about the performance. According to Porsche, the car has a top speed of 315 kph. But that’s the least interesting statistic. The sprint to 100 kph takes only 3.5 seconds and you can reach 200 kph within twelve seconds. A performance like this will make you forget the previous generation GT3 within a second.
For spotters, the GT3 is a true dream. The car has an aerodynamic bodywork where spoilers and bumpers are completely functional. The central exhausts are typical for a GT3 version. The LED lighting is an option you can choose for. The new GT3 weighs thirteen percent less than its predecessor and at the same time the stiffness is increased with 25 percent.
