Geneva 2016: Apollo Arrow, de return of Gumpert

Gumpert is a company that wasn't that popular among every car fanatic. Maybe that's the reason why – although they had a very amazing car with the Apollo – went bankrupt. Gumpert is now revived under the name Apollo! This is their first creation, the Arrow!

After we were introduced with a series of teasers we can finally meet the final design of this hypercar. We have to say that the car looks just amazing. The Arrow looks futuristic and aggressive, like a racing car for the streets. The designers of the Apollo say that the design of the prototype, which is inspired by the F22 fighter jet and the shark, will be identical to the production version which will be unveiled in 2017. We're looking forward to this moment!

A lot of show but no go? You're wrong. The Arrow is powered by the well-known 4 liter twinturbo V8 by Audi. Does this mean that you can keep up with the Arrow in you RS6? No, you're wrong again. The V8 got a powerboost and produces 1000 hp and 1.000 Nm of torque. It's no surprise that this results in a great performance with a weight of only 1300 kilograms. Apollo claims that the Arrow sprints to 100 kph in 2.9 seconds and can reach a top speed of 360 kph. This makes the Arrow a perfect competitor for the LaFerrari, P1 and 918. Extra advantages of the Arrow are the fact that this car will cost less than a million euros and that this car is standard equipped with navigation, ESP, ABS and electric windows. This is the bargain of the century compared with the 'holy trinity'. We sure hope that Apollo will be able to sell a few copies of the Arrow!
