Geneva 2016: Bugatti Chiron

Earlier today we've showed you the first photos of the new Chiron. The successor of the Veyron produces up to 1.500 hp and 1.600 Nm of torque. Only 500 copies will be produced where the future owners need to pay up to 2.4 million euros for a copy but in return you do get a really special hypercar!

Bugatti describes their Chiron as the most powerful, fastest, most luxurious and most exclusive streeg legal car of this moment. The newly developed W16 engine now produces 1.500 hp and 1.600 Nm of torque which is available between 2.000 and 6.000 rpm. This makes you sprint to 100 kph in just 2.5 seconds. The Chiron is also equipped with a completely new titanium exhaust system and the stiffness of the bodywork is improved thanks to a carbon fiber monocoque.

Bugatti developed an adaptive suspension for the Chrion which improves the agility and speed in corners. You can choose between five modes: Lift, EB Auto, Autobahn, Handling and Top Speed. The EB Auto mode will be the most comfortable mode. The Autobahn mode is activated at speeds over 180 kph and this mode makes the suspension more stiff for a more stable handling. Eventually there are the Handling and Top Speed modes. Handling is the most extreme mode which is made for use on the track. With the Top Speed mode it should be possible to reach the top speed of 420 kph but as always you will need an extra key to do this.

Just like with the Veyron, Michelin developed a new tire especially for the Chiron. Bugatti it will be cheaper to install a new tire than it was with the Veyron. This tire will be comfortable and performing at the same time. The Chiron will be equipped with carbon ceramic brakes which are bigger and more powerful than those on the Veyron.

The new headlights are something unique. They consist eight LED lights. In the interior we find some more new and beautiful details. The speedometer in the Veyron stopped at 420 kph, the speedometer of the Chiron doesn't stop before 500 kph.

The development of the Chiron was a lot of work for Bugatti. They used over thirty different testing models during the development. The Chiron was tested in an air flow tunnel for over 300 hours and it drove over 500.000 kilometers and used over 200 sets of tires during this testing. It's clear that Bugatti is trying really hard to build the best and fastest car in the world. We can't wait for the car to be spotted on the streets!
