Geneva 2017: Porsche 991 GT3 MkII

One of the highlights of this year’s Geneva Motor Show has to be the new Porsche 991 GT3. Porsche fanatics complained a lot and now Porsche finally admitted: the manual gearbox is back in this GT3. Time for a party!

We still don’t know how Porsche manages to create this magical atmosphere around the launch of their GT3 (RS) models but they manage to do this year after year and it isn’t any different today.

They say goodbye to the 3.8 liter from the 911.1 GT3. This engine is replaced by a 4.0 liter which shares its basis with the Cup version. And yes, you can probably already guess, this version also has a power of 500 hp, just like the GT3 RS!

A PDK gearbox might be very fast, Porsche fanatics aren’t too happy about it. Porsche listened to their fans and now offers a manual six-speed gearbox. This gearbox weighs 17 kilograms less than the PDK version. Most of the sold copies will probably still be fitted with the PDK gearbox but it’s just a great thing to know that it’s possible to configure your car with a manual gearbox. Rear-wheel steering is also still equipped on this car.

We can’t wait to find the first copies on our website. What would your dream car look like? A copy with the ClubSport package, ceramic brakes and the manual gearbox? And what about the 911 R? Well, the second-hand copies will probably suddenly be a bit cheaper.
