Every year, in the autumn, the city of Zurich hosts the Auto Zurich event. Unlike other Swiss fairs, it continued even during the COVID-19 pandemic and is more successful than ever. The fair starts today and ends on Sunday. So, if you happen to be in the Zurich area, it's definitely worth a visit.
Of course, this auto show is much smaller than the Geneva International Motor Show, for example, but the latter ceased to exist three years ago and has not been held since. At least not in Geneva. It is very uncertain whether it will ever happen again.
The Auto Zurich operates slightly differently from Geneva. While in Geneva, the manufacturers themselves showcased their cars, in Zurich, it's the Swiss representatives who present the cars.
Among the highlights this year were some very cool hypercars, legendary classics, and concept vehicles. Some cars made their debut at the Auto Zurich.
Some of the highlights included a Pagani Utopia, painted in a beautiful shade of blue and combined with blue carbon fiber. There was also a relatively large Koenigsegg booth with two Jeskos and a Gemera. One Jesko was painted in a stunning light gray with many orange accents, and its interior featured orange leather. The other one was made of so-called naked carbon, which means there was no traditional paint layer on the carbon, allowing the carbon's texture to shine through. At this booth, there was also a beautiful blue Valkyrie.
Another highlight was the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR, which was displayed at the Aston Martin booth. They also had the new DB12 on display.
Another exciting exhibit was the Passione Engadina booth, which is an event held in St. Moritz at the end of each summer. In 2024, the focus will be on Maserati, and they showcased two of the most legendary Maseratis - an MC12 GT1 and an original Maserati 450S. Both were painted in almost the same shade of blue.
