Recently, we have been getting very good spots from the Far East. Pagani Zondas, Ferrari LaFerraris, McLaren Sennas, Carrera GTs, and much more. Here, however, we do not see a modern hypercar but rather a coveted classic: a Porsche 550 Spyder.
The Porsche 550 Spyder made history for Porsche in the 1950s. It was their first purebred racing car. And it dominated. It won an incredible number of well-known races. It was extremely small, but that was precisely its big advantage. It was extremely light and just as nimble in the corners. This car became so popular that even famous personalities bought such a sweet racing car. The most famous buyer was probably James Dean, a US American actor who bought a 550 Spyder and wanted to participate in races. Unfortunately, a terrible accident occurred with his 550 Spyder in which James Dean died. He affectionately called his 550 Spyder "Little Bastard."
Today, this car has an extreme cult status. It is practically THE Porsche from the 1950s. It's even cooler to see such an exotic car (by Japanese standards) on the streets of Tokyo. Unfortunately, there is some bad news. It's the same as always: the question of whether this 550 is one of the original 89 units. Unfortunately, the answer is no. This is a replica. If you are sad that it is not an original, I can reassure you. Even though it is a replica, it is still an extremely rare sight. Even a replica can cost millions. The reason is that such a replica was built using the original process and the original tools.
