In Lugano, it’s quite the sight to see - a vivid green Lamborghini Huracán LP640-2 STO and a sleek matte grey Aventador LP770-4 SVJ cruising together through the streets. The Huracán, first unveiled in 2013, is now nearing the end of its production run, expected to conclude in 2024.
It’s unclear if the final Huracán has already left the Sant'Agata Bolognese factory, but the model's legacy is already huge. Since its debut, Lamborghini has built over 20,000 Huracáns, though an exact total hasn’t yet been announced. It’s likely Lamborghini will share the final production numbers when the last Huracán rolls off the line.
Going back a bit, Lamborghini produced 14,022 units of the Gallardo from 2003 to 2013, solidifying it as a flagship model of that era. The Aventador followed, with production spanning from 2011 to late 2022 and totaling 11,465 units - nearly triple the production numbers of the Murciélago, which saw only 4,099 units made between 2001 and 2010. The increase in production is remarkable, showing how Lamborghini has expanded in recent years. With the recent launch of the Revuelto and the upcoming Temerario, it seems likely Lamborghini will continue at this pace or even surpass it. The Revuelto has already been spotted frequently, hinting at a substantial production run, while the first customer-delivered Temerarios are still to come.
If I had to pick a favorite Lamborghini era, I’d have to say the Murciélago and Gallardo era was something special. There’s just something iconic about the Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce - it’s definitely my all-time favorite Lamborghini. How about you?
