Seven years after announcing that McLaren would return to the market as a car manufacturer the brand has reached a milestone. McLaren just produced their 10.000th car and that's great news! It all started with the McLaren MP4-12C, and has now arrived at the 570S (and its similar models).
Seven years ago the final design of the MP4-12C was announced. Production started in 2011 so we can conclude that on average McLaren produced about 2.000 cars. Included in the total of 10.000 are of course the 12C, 540 GT, 570S, 570 GT, 650S, 675 LT, 688 HS and P1. All beautiful and great cars. The 12C had a few minor issues but the 650S made up for them, and then some. Car number 10/000 is a Ceramic Gray unit. An MSO color. It's a beautiful color if you ask me. It's a milestone for McLaren but its sales figures are a bit behind when looking at other luxury performance brands, although looking at the future I'm sure that will be taken care of. There are many cars to be released that may take care of that little technicality, including but certainly not limited to the P14 and 720S.
