Morgan unveils first Special Project 1

Bespoke projecten are very popular nowadays. Car manufacturers try to approach their customers on an individual way. The small English company Morgan already built the Aeromax for a customer and now they show us a new one-off project, the SP1.

Morgan shows the SP1 during Salon Privé, the perfect show to present such a one-off. In addition to the Aeromax, this SP1 will be a real one-off and they won't build a second copy. The design is developed by Morgan's Special Projects division. According to the manufacturer this car is a showcase of 105 years of car history. Morgan is founded in 1909. The design is a special interpretation of a shooting brake mixed with extravagance. Morgan was inspired by the LifeCar concept from 2009. This car has the unique front with the funky headlights and special roof construction. Just as remarkable are the completely dense wheels.

The car is powered by a 3.7 liter V6 from Ford. A new suspension, ECU and new sports exhaust create a very dynamic car. The customer choose wood from an ash tree for the frame combined with Bubinga Red hardwood from Africa. The owner made these choices because he's trading goods with Africa for his entire life. The extravagance of the exterior is also found in the interior of the car.
