On a sunny but cold winter day we arrive at the street Silikatnyy proyezd, with still a little hangover from the night before. Somewhere distant in an old district we are heading to König Motor Club. You won’t find this showroom on a prominent location as we’re used to in Europe. We are at the König Motor Club, a name which we mention quite regularly on Autogespot. This name stands for all that is fast, expensive and luxurious. But what is the König Motor Club and what makes this company so special? We headed to the König Motor Club to find out why there so special. The slogan of the company already shows us why. In the following report of Moscow we will show you the special world of the König Motor Club.
The slogan of the König Motor Club makes the company stand out between other dealerships. “Our possibilities are limited by your possibilities”. In the small showroom we are welcomed by manager Andrey Popov and commercial manager Andrey Kozyrev. The showroom is full of all sorts of products. Golf carts, a Ferrari 458 Spider, an AC Cobra and a very nice Chopper. It directly shows the diversity of the company. The König Motor Club is not only active on the field of cars but they also do a lot of other things like organizing events for their customers. Next to that, they are an exclusive dealership for Mansory, Spyker and Invader. The exclusive dealership of Mansory gives them the opportunity to develop own projects like the first ever Mansory G 63 AMG. Mansory products are very popular in Russia. Projects of Mansory based on the McLaren MP4-12C, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren and the Aston Martin DB9 can be admired at the dealership. Russians are looking for more than just four wheels and a steering wheel. The Mansory G-Coutore for example is a very popular car in Russia and is made in cooperation with Philipp Plein. Lifestyle and cars are a perfect combination! Out of the seven built copies, three of them are already spotted. For those who are looking for another type of SUV, König Motor Club offers the Invader L60. An extreme SUV based on the Lexus LFX570 where they almost double the power to 600 bhp! A lot of the 100 copies find their way to Russia. You will probably already know most of the things we wrote above but there are some things most of you won’t know. König Motor Club has a lot of extra activities like for example the dealership of Garia golf carts, the armoring of vehicles and a lot of things which have nothing to do with the automotive scene. As we said before: “Our possibilities are limited by your possibilities.” We also saw a lot of haute-couture items, art and even a pram which is completely custom made out of carbon fiber and other very expensive materials. The market of the company ranges from St. Petersburg to Moscow to even Chechnya.
In a small room behind the showroom we are introduced to the König Motor Club. In English, with a nice Russian accent, they tell us more about the company. Our Dutch friend and Autogespot visitor Misha Charoudin helps us with the translation for some better information. The company is a completely different type of dealership than a standard Ferrari, Maserati or Porsche dealership. This club is all about a unique experience. Having a nice and exclusive car is important for your appearance. People like to live like it’s can be their last day and this results in impulsive behavior. Whoever has money, buys whatever he likes. It once happened that a customer visited the club with the idea to buy a Ferrari and eventually he went home with a Rolls-Royce. The dealership has a unique approach and they do not only help you to buy a car, they help you with everything you want and that’s why the customer went home with a Rolls-Royce instead of a Ferrari because a Rolls-Royce eventually fitted better with the customers personality.
In the small room behind the showroom we also see a lot of art. Art distinguishes your personality and taste and it is a great place to think about your purchase. The dealership also sells paintings and art but this are just one of the many activities they do. When we walk to the back, we enter the workshop where they are working on three projects. The first project is a Mercedes-Benz W124 which is completely restored. The engine is tuned and the interior is refurbished. Further, we see a Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe of which the interior is stripped. The owner of this car didn’t like the interior and the steering wheel so he wanted the car to be refurbished and he wanted a bigger steering wheel. Finally we see a Mercedes-Benz G 55 AMG in the workshop. This car got some A.R.T. parts for the Streetline bodykit. Than the car got some extra Mansory parts and now the owner wants to get a complete Mansory bodykit for the car. In another part of the showroom we find a Spyker waiting for a potential buyer in one of the most original showrooms in the world. The room is decorated as the inside of an airplane: completely out of steel, with rivets and small windows. König Motor Club expects that, when Spyker restarts their production, the brand can be quite successful in Russia. People like extravagant cars and a Spyker is the perfect car to represent this lifestyle.
Than there’s another building where specialists of the company are working on the personalization of cars and lifestyle. This is where we see the most exclusive pram there is. Next to that, they’re working on a seat with a zebra profile and this can also be found in the interior of his car. The limits of for customers are set by their own creativity and amount of money. In the building there is a special room where the developer is working on his projects. The projects differ from golf carts to exclusive cars. Especially the Garia golf carts are getting more and more popular in Russia but not for the use on golf courses. Only a few people use these carts for what they’re made for. Most of the others just enjoy to drive around in a Garia golf cart around their house and some even race with them. That’s why they’re as exclusive as possible. A big stereo installation, alcantara interior, a new bodykit and even a faster engine. It’s keeps getting crazier! The Garia golf cart costs 45,000 Euros and had a complete leather interior with carbon fiber parts from Mansory.
Privacy and security in Russia are very different compared with the rest of Europe. König Motor Club is specialized in the security of cars on all possible levels. Without noticing, there are a lot of armored SUVs on the streets in Moscow with privacy glass and bulletproof windows. The lowest level of security is B1 and this continues till B7. You can easily meet the wrong persons in this big city and you’ll love to have a secured car at that moment. Maybe that’s why people in Russia want to live like it’s their last day!
After a small tour through both buildings we head to a warehouse near the dealership. This warehouse is full of supercars which are waiting for good weather or a new owner. However, they probably won’t get a new owner very soon because you simply can’t buy an occasion when you’re rich. The warehouse has a special collection of supercars. We saw three very limited models, the Mansory G-Couture, the Mansory Cyrus and the Mansory LEMANSory GTC. Other cars like a red chrome Ferrari 612 Scaglietti and an Invader L60 also draw a lot of attention. In another corner we find two Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series and let’s not forget two Spykers! It’s a collection you can only find at a few dealerships worldwide. The location where these cars are stored is even more special. Just like we wrote before, this dealership is located somewhere distant in an old district, not the kind of place where you expect to see cars like this. A nice climax to end a very interesting visit at this dealership.
During our visit to the Köning Motor Club we haven’t only found out more about the Russian petrolhead but we have also found out that lifestyle and cars are a perfect combination together. Not much dealerships know how to combine this but in Moscow they do know.
