Fords reincarnation of the Ford GT40 with their Ford GT is one of the best products they’ve delivered. Since the sixties, this really is an automotive dream. The reactions about the concept car in 2002 were very positive so the car went on sale. In 2003, Ford said that only 80 copies came to Europe of the 4500 copies which would be build. But now, in 2012, we see that there a lot more copies driving around in Europe.

We can’t say exactly how many unique copies there are registered in Europe, but of course it is more than the 80 Ford has shipped over the Atlantic Ocean officially. Soon, another one will be registered in Germany. In Düsseldorf, the very striking copy below was spotted. With its low, beautiful lines it is great to see. The color likely isn’t standard, Ford never livered their cars with matt colors as a standard. We think the owner has gone to a tuner for some modifications. As you can see, the interior has got green alcantara. A very striking combination which isn’t seen often. Anderson Germany from Düsseldorf is a company which does this kind of things for exclusive cars. On the Köningsallee it isn’t the first time a car with temporary license plates of the tuner gets spotted. In this busy street the American supercar with 550 bhp did have more than enough attention.

The Ford GT is real American beast, just as their musclecars. A mid-placed 5,4 liter V8 with a supercharger, good for a massive 550 bhp. In only 3,3 seconds, this thing will hit 62 mph, when the 315 mm wide tires have the highest amount of grip. The top speed isn’t known exactly, but is over 200 mph. In fifth gear, a speed of 307 mph is possible, and don’t forget this car also has a sixth gear! A very small group of people who is brave enough can tell this.
