The 190E EVO was one of the most advanced cars of its time, being the homologation version of the DTM racing car.

The 190E EVO II was developed as an evolution of the Mercedes-Benz 190E (W201) and served as a homologation version for motorsport, specifically for the Deutsche Tourenwagen-Meisterschaft (DTM). The vehicle was powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which, thanks to its 16-valve head and high-performance fuel injection, delivered an impressive output of about 235 horsepower (173 kW). Its top speed was around 250 km/h. To meet the racing requirements, the 190E EVO II was produced in limited numbers. Between January and March 1990, a total of 502 vehicles were manufactured.
The EVO II was well-known for its striking aerodynamic body kit, specifically designed for racing purposes. It included a prominent front splitter, a large rear wing, and side skirts that reduced air resistance and improved stability at high speeds.

Equipped with a specially tuned sports suspension, the EVO II provided improved road handling and agility, making it an excellent choice for the racetrack. The interior of the EVO II was sporty and functional, featuring comfortable sports seats, a sport steering wheel, and additional instruments to provide essential information to the driver during races.
The 190E EVO II proved to be a powerful competition vehicle and achieved great success in the DTM. In the hands of talented drivers, the car secured significant victories, leading Mercedes-Benz to clinch the DTM championship title.
Due to its rarity, motorsport achievements, and being the last model developed by Mercedes-Benz for the DTM, the 190E EVO II has become a sought-after collector's item today. Well-preserved examples command high prices in the market.
