Until recently the new 991 of Porsche was only available in two wheel drive. Porsche presents the new generation of Carrera 4 models, in Paris. For those who would love to have a 991 in which they can drive around in every type of weather, Porsche now presents some extra safety with their four wheel drive models.

Porsche is slowly renewing their entire collection of 911 models. Models which still have to be renewed are the Targa, Turbo, GT3 and GT2 and let’s not forget all the limited models. The Carrera 4 is logically introduced after the Carrera and this model will be just as popular. Just like the 997 MkII, the Carrera 4 has a ‘traditional’ reflector between the taillights. The bodywork of 22 millimeters wider and at the rear of the car there is enough room for the four wheel drive. The new Carrera 4(S) is now lighter and more economic. The engine, the well-known six cylinder is more powerful. The Carrera 4 and Carrera 4 Convertible have 350 bhp and the S versions have an extra 50 bhp. The Carrera 4 Convertible makes the sprint to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and the fastest version, the Carrera 4S Coupe with a PDK gearbox only needs 4.1 seconds.
