Passione Engadina: Kimera special

A third wellrepresented brand, and largely unknown to many, is Kimera. Kimera is a restomod brand designed to evoke memories of the legendary Lancia 037. There were five out of a total of 37 examples present.

With restomod cars, it's often the case that another car is sacrificed to create an entirely new masterpiece. In the worst case, the original car being represented is used. Naturally, for a Kimera, a Lancia 037 wouldn't be used – that would be completely foolish, considering the extreme rarity and cost of the 037, and no one would want to give up their 037 for a restomod project. The founder of Kimera, Luca Betti, is also an Italian rally driver himself. (He can be seen in one of the initial images.)

For the EVO37, only a Lancia Beta Montecarlo needs to be sacrificed. There are enough of them around the Kimera factory, so sacrificing 37 of them isn't a big issue.

The Evo 37, weighing 1050 kg, is powered by a 371 kW (505 hp) strong four-cylinder gasoline engine with a displacement of 2150 cm³. Unlike the Rally 037, the engine in this new version doesn't just have a supercharger but also a turbocharger for higher power ranges. It's claimed to accelerate to 100 km/h in three seconds, with a top speed of 310 km/h. The sequential 6-speed gearbox is from Dana Graziano, also used in the Audi R8 and Lamborghini Gallardo.

If you want to buy this modern rally monster, you should have more than half a million in your account. You should also be quick, as the production is limited to 37 units, and only a few are available...
