Porsche is working on a eco-friendly 991

It's for sure now that Porsche will make a whole series of special models. Now it seems that they have been working on a eco-friendly Porsche which shall be introduced during the IAA in Frankfurt. The so-called Porsche 991 Blue Edition has to be the entry-level model.

The Blue Edition has to become the BMW 116d under the Porsches. On the inside it is a proper Porsche, under the bonnet it is just a small step backwards. The drivetrain will include a 3.4 liter flatsix engine which provides 300 bhp. That's 50 bhp less than the 350 bhp Carrera. Thanks to features like a start/stop-button, cylinder elimination and active aerodynamics this model should be able to use 6.4 liters of fuel per hundred kilometers.

Despite it's fewer power under the bonnet, it is a striking car on the outside thanks to colours like Riviera Blue and Guards Red coloured accents. Rumors say this model will only be available for Porsche Club members, but we think this is not the group of customers which want this car. The truth of the rumor will be revealed on the IAA in Frankfurt.
