Porsche unveils the Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS, the most powerful and fastest mid-engine models by Porsche. The letters stand for Gran Turismo Sport. The engines in the Boxster and Cayman are based on those of the Cayman S and Boxster S. By optimizing them, the engines now produce an extra 15 hp and 10 Nm of torque. This makes it a total of 330 hp in the Boxster GTS and 340 hp in the Cayman GTS.
The Sport Chrono Pacakge is standard on both new GTS versions. Together with the optional PDK transmission, which stands for Porsche Doppelkupplung, and the Sport Plus button, the Boxster GTS sprints to 100 kph in 4.7 seconds and the Cayman GTS is even a tenth of a second faster. The models have almost the same top speed. 281 kph for the Boxster GTS and 285 for the Cayman GTS.
The Porsche Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS will be available in May 2014. The Boxster GTS with PDK transmission will cost 88.900 Euros, the Cayman GTS with PDK transmission will cost you 92.800 Euros. The Boxster GTS with manual transmission has a price of 93.122 Euros while the Cayman GTS with a manual transmission is a bit more expensive with a price of 96.022 Euros. All prices are excluding taxes.
