What an incredible find at the abandoned Circuit de Reims-Gueux: a Lamborghini Diablo SVR track tool from the ’90s! It’s the first time we get to see this rare version of the Diablo on our site, and it’s no surprise since the SVR was built to dominate the race track, not the road.
Designed with precision, the Diablo SVR was enhanced aerodynamically with a larger rear wing and an aggressive front splitter, delivering improved downforce and stability at high speeds. Under the hood, a 5.7-liter V12 engine powered the SVR, producing an impressive 525 hp. With this engine, the SVR could sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just over 3.5 seconds - a true testament to its ferocious speed.
In a bid to maximize track performance, Lamborghini’s engineers stripped out any unnecessary weight, removing interior comforts and using lightweight materials wherever possible. They equipped the SVR with a full roll cage, reinforcing the chassis and adding essential protection for the driver in intense racing conditions. Additionally, a modified exhaust system boosted power and unleashed the signature Lamborghini V12 roar, making the SVR as thrilling to hear as it was to drive.
With only 32 units ever produced, the Diablo SVR is a rare and highly sought-after collector’s gem among enthusiasts. Built as a purebred racer, this Diablo SVR was meant for the track, making its discovery at this legendary, abandoned circuit all the more fitting. What a perfect location for the first sighting of such a rare machine!
