The Bentley EXP 9 F was a big shock when it was presented to the world. An SUV for the richest of the earth but also a concept car which shows the wide vision of Bentley. Today not only a big limousine or sportscar is a status symbol. Look what Porsche has done the last twenty years. Another manufacturer of luxury cars, Rolls-Royce, wants to follow them.
A recent title on a newspaper was that the rich people don’t lose money, they get even richer! The market for luxurious cars like Rolls-Royce and Bentley is getting bigger and bigger. Sure at countries like China, the people are getting richer but the roads don’t get better. Countries in Eastern Europe or the Middle East are also good examples. In that case you have to find a solution yourself. Bentley or Rolls-Royce are often chosen as the solution. But it’s hard to make a choice about how you’re going to expand your model range. The management of Rolls-Royce still is busy with two new models. The first one is an SUV, the other is an even bigger version of the Phantom. Bugatti also is busy working on extremely luxurious limousines because the need for this kind of cars is growing. If Bentley comes up with an SUV it is no problem, but for Rolls-Royce it is one because it doesn’t fit with the company’s history at all. Anyway, Rolls-Royce won’t make decisions in a short time. In about two or three years we will know more about the company’s history for sure.
