Seeing black: A stunning Ferrari Enzo caught in action

One crazy sight after another - this week has been absolutely insane with incredible car sightings! On top of that, the weather was on our side, mostly sunny and warm. If spring is already this good, imagine how summer is gonna be… Can it get better than this? I really hope so - and honestly, I think it will!

De Friezen Crew captured something truly special this week: a stunning black Enzo Ferrari cruising around Baarn, Netherlands. Not only did he manage to get some insane rolling shots, but he also perfectly captured the raw beauty of this masterpiece - named, of course, after the man himself, Enzo Ferrari.

Now, the big question: how many Enzos were actually made in black? There’s always some debate about this. Some say not nearly enough, considering most Enzos are red. But Ferrari did paint a handful in other colors, and black is actually about as common as yellow, making them the two most frequently seen shades after red. While not the rarest, a black Enzo still stands out and feels extra special when you see one in the wild. After some digging, I found out that a total of 43 Enzos left the factory in black. Most of them - 34 to be exact - were painted in Nero Pastello, while 4 were finished in Nuovo Nero Daytona, another 4 in Nero DS, and just one was ever painted in Nero Opaco, making it truly one of a kind.

Seeing an Enzo in any color is always an incredible moment, but catching one that isn’t red makes it even more special. I’ve been lucky enough to see a few different shades myself - besides the classic red, I’ve spotted silver, blue, and a yellow Enzo. My personal favorite? The blue one, no doubt. And fun fact: I spotted all of them in Monaco alone!

Now, back to this black Enzo. The license plate it’s wearing is a dealer plate, and this one has quite a bit of Ferrari history behind it. Just last year, this plate was seen on a silver Purosangue - Ferrari’s first-ever SUV, and a naturally aspirated V12 at that! Some people love it, some don’t, but personally, I think it’s awesome. A V12 SUV in today’s era? Didn’t see that coming.

Before the Purosangue, this same plate was on a red SF90 Spider in 2023. And if we go even further back, in 2022 it was spotted on a grey 296 GTB and a white California. All cool cars, no doubt - but let’s be real, the Enzo tops them all. Seeing one is always special, but in black? That’s a whole other level. Definitely the highlight of the week!
