Spot of the day USA: McLaren Dodge Combo

An amazing combo of an English and American car by spotter Daniel Shofner. The contrasting McLaren 12C and the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat look amazing in a typical American setting.

And talking about contrast, these cars have just two things in common, the color and the number of cylinders. The McLaren is a refined sports car with its 3.8-litre V8, twin-turbo engine, developing 592 hp and about 443 lb·ft of torque. The Dodge on the other hand is a typical American Muscle car with a 6.2-liter HEMI V8 engine rated at 707 hp and about 650 lb·ft of torque. Just by these numbers you would think that the Dodge is the superior sports car, but as we all know, there is more to it. The McLaren reaches the 62 mph mark in 2.8 seconds and the Dodge is about 1 second slower. One the quarter mile the numbers are a little closer, 10.27 for the McLaren vs. 10.85 for the Dodge. Unfortunately we don't have comparable track numbers and we just assume that the McLaren would be the winner. But the biggest difference is the sticker price and the Dodge is clearly the winner. The McLaren 12C had a sticker of $230,000 and the Dodge Challenger Hellcat had a sticker of $63,000. What car would you chose!
