Back in 2000 the Carrera GT was introduced and the production of the Porsche Carrera GT started in Leipzig, Germany in 2003, in the 4 years the car was in production 1270 units were produced although in todays world a few less exist.

The Carrera GT is notorious for being hard to drive with the main reason being the manual gearbox. A screaming 5,7 Lite V10. Back when the car was revealed it was a complete surprise to most people, there were even people who worked for Porsche who did not know about the fact that this car was being developed! Originally intended to have 1500 examples only 1270 were produced. This was because the cars intended for the United Stated of America were no longer road legal due to changed safety regulations in the US. Even cars that were already delivered to the USA were being shipped back and reverted to the Europe spec to be sold there.

ome great features of the car in my opinion are the seats which weigh only 10 kg, they do resemble the seats we see in the 918 quite a bit but they look more classic, less high-tech which I really like! The gearknob is made from wood Also the keyhole is on the left side from the steering wheel which you do see in quite a lot of Porsches but is really rare in other cars. This dates back all the way to the le mans races where the drivers had to run to the car at the start of the race, placing the keyhole on the left side might save a precious second!

Overall this is an amazing car and I can’t wait to spot one for myself!

LDJ, congrats on having the opportunity to shoot this car, it must have been quite the experience!
