Spotter spots two out of the six McLaren MP4-12C Project Alpha's

McLaren is working hard on becoming a big name in the world of exotic cars. The company started in 1989, three years before the legendary F1 was introduced. After 23 years it is time to celebrate the F1 with a limited model of their most important product nowadays: the MP4-12C.

Spotter hertj94 found two of the six copies of the MP4-12C Project Alpha at Lake Forest Sports Cars. Their limited cars include all the possible optional extras of the list and they've also got some options for model year 2013. These options are a power boost to 616 bhp, a new exhaust system with a louder soundtrack and optimized performance for changing gear and accelerating.

Next to that, some optical changes are made to make clear that this is an extraordinary MP4-12C. The roof, the splitter on the front, the bonnet at the back and the inside of the wheels are finished in black. Also new air vents on the back and new laminations is placed in the grille, all made out of carbon fiber. In the interior, a plaque can be found which says ‘Project Alpha’.

McLaren says these cars are made in request of customers who want to combine several options of the catalogue of McLaren Special Operations, in one car. As we speak, four of the six cars are already sold.
