In the Spanish village of Granada you can see the new models of several manufacturers regularly. The village is based at the beginning of the Sierra Nevada on a height of 732 meters. The Sierra Nevada consist sixteen peaks higher than 3000 meters and after the Alps it is the highest ridge of Western Europe. This are ideal conditions to test your new car in the thin and cold air on top of the mountains and the heat in the valley of the mountains.

Recently, the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class with codename W222 was spotted in Granada. They were driving around with two models which were spotted by the father of spotter Jesper. The new S-Class will be available in 2013 so Mercedes-Benz still has a lot of testing ahead of them. The W222 won’t be bigger as the W221 S-Class and the exterior will look like the concept model which was shown on the Geneva Motor Show in 2007, the F700.

Probably we can see the car for the first time on the exhibition of Paris, next October. Regarding the engines we can expect a 5.5 liters V8 with two turbos in the S500, a biturbo V12 in the S600, a biturbo 5.5 liters V8 in the S 63 AMG and finally a 6 liters V12 with 630 bhp in the S 65 AMG. Of course the other normal gasoline and diesel versions will be available too. Mercedes-Benz is also working on a hybrid version based on the Mercedes-Benz Vision S500 Plug-in Hybrid.
