Successor BMW 1-Series M Coupé is confirmed

With the M135i and 1-Serie M Coupé BMW shows that building a sportcar isn’t all about power, and that a big fun factor is as important. The 1-Series M Coupé was limited, and the M135i wasn’t an M-model officially. But there’s good news, because a successor of this car will come, no matter what.

That’s what CEO Dr. Friedrich Nitschke of BMW’s M-division confirmed in a conversation with BMWblog. The 1-Series M was so successful BMW just can’t come up with another starting model for the M-series. Another important reason for this is the fact that the M135i isn’t an M-model but an M-performance. The 1-Series, which production ended last year has 340 bhp and 450 Newtonmeters of torque. We drove the model on our way to the Nürburgring and we have to say that this is one of the most enjoyable cars we have driven over the last few years. They better hurry up with the successor if you ask us!
