Surreal! McLaren F1 GTR Longtail shows up in London

Wow! London has been throwing out a few special spots last week. We already saw the Pagani Huayra and now we see the McLaren F1 GTR Longtail!

You will walk through your garage and decide to swing this beast. It is the only McLaren F1 GTR Longtail we have on Autogespot. This example was also spotted a few years ago. According to the user Competizione, this is chassis 19R but without the horrible stickers. A McLaren F1 GTR doesn't need stickers to stand out. This is a racer pur sang that has been made street legal. The F1 GTR Longtail was designed to compete in 1997 against the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR AMG and Porsche 996 GT1 in the FIA GT Championship. The basis was the normal F1 but after that everything changed quickly. A tighter nose, longer rear end and a decent wing were added to create more downforce. The engine was reduced in power, because the V12 was reduced to 6 liters instead of 6.1 to meet the maximum power of 600 hp in this class, together with some other adjustments.
