The pass season has officially come to a close. On Sunday evening on the 10th of November, the Sustenpass became one of the first passes in Switzerland to shut down for winter. Just a day later, more passes followed, including the Furka-, Grimsel-, Klausen-, Nufenen-, and San Bernardinopass. The Great St. Bernard Pass had already closed back on October 21st.
Two days later, webcams positioned along the passes reveal a landscape already blanketed in snow. Just on Sunday before, these same routes enjoyed warm, sunny weather, but now the scene is cold and snowy - illustrating how quickly the weather can shift in Switzerland. Now, as we reflect on this year’s memories, we’re reminded that it will be at least 7 to 8 months before these beautiful mountain roads open again.
Among the memorable sights was a stunning moment on the Sustenpass: a gray and red Porsche 992 GT3 RS Weissach Package and a black and gold Lotus Exige 430 Cup Type 79 cruising together down towards Wasen. For now, we can only look back at moments like these until the next season begins.
