The dark side: Donkervoort D8 GTO Bare Naked Carbon Edition

The Donkervoort D8 GTO family keeps on growing with the introduction of a brand-new version: the D8 GTO Bare Naked Carbon Edition. The very first Donkervoort which is made completely out of carbon fiber. This material that shows the unique and characteristic fiber structure doesn't only accentuate the high-tech and fast character of the D8 GTO, it also takes this car to the dark side. The very first copy of this eyecatcher left the Donkervoort factory last week and is heading to Switzerland.

The new Bare Naked Carbon Edition emphasizes the high-tech, ultra lightweight and fast nature of the D8 GTO thanks to a unique combination of lightweight carbon fiber components and the powerful 2.5L R5 TFSI sports engine from Audi.

This special edition focuses on carbon fiber. The exterior as well as the interior of this GTO is made almost completely out of this super strong and lightweight material. The exterior, from the nose to the diffuser is made out of bare carbon fiber which gives the D8 GTO a dark and mysterious look. The interior also consists a lot of carbon fiber in the seats, doors, dashboard and entry guards. Even the smallest details are made out of carbon fiber.

Every Bare Naked Carbon Edition goest through a unique painting process where every carbon fiber component gets a layer of UV laquer with a matte, glossy finish or even an accent colour of your choice. The use of bare carbon fiber components compared with painted carbon fiber components also reduces the weight of the Donkervoort.
