When the embargo is lifted, the cars will immediately come out. Last week the Porsche 992 GT3 RS was presented. Now he has already been spotted on the highway!
We didn't have to wait long for the 992 GT3 RS, and in this case even with the Weissach Package. Just a few days after his introduction, Lars@autogespot managed to spot him. Porsche has gone crazy with the design of the GT3 RS and has made no concessions. The boxer engine delivers 525 hp, but the real deal is in the aerodynamics.
The new Porsche 911 GT3 RS makes no secret of its intentions: it is uncompromisingly designed for maximum performance. The basis of the significant performance increase is the centrally located radiator that Porsche first used in the Le Mans class winner 911 RSR and then also in the 911 GT3 R. Instead of the previous three-radiator layout, the new 911 GT3 uses RS one large, centrally located radiator located where the luggage compartment is located on other 911 models. This makes it possible to use the freed up space to integrate active aerodynamic elements. Continuously adjustable wing elements at the front of the car and on the two-piece rear wing, in combination with numerous other aerodynamic measures, provide a total downforce of 409 kilograms at 200 km/h. The new 992 GT3 RS thus generates twice as much downforce as its predecessor, the 991.2 GT3 RS, and three times as much as the current 992 GT3. At a speed of 285 km/h, the total downforce is no less than 860 kilograms.
Then there is the Weissach package that we see here on the GT3 RS. The optional Weissach package is significantly more comprehensive than the standard GT3 RS. The front cover, the roof, parts of the rear wing and the upper shell of the exterior mirrors are then finished with visible carbon. The front and rear anti-roll bars, the rear coupling rods and part of the rear axle are made of CFRP and contribute to a further improvement of the driving dynamics. The roll bar of the Weissach package is made of CFRP instead of steel for the first time. That saves about six kilograms. The Weissach package also includes PDK gearshift paddles with motorsport magnet technology. Shifting is therefore even sportier thanks to a more precise pressure point and a more clearly perceptible click. Magnesium forged wheels are available as an option with the Weissach package, which saves eight kilograms in weight.
